Wow.
Literally, the BEST WEEKEND EVER!
And I almost didn’t go.
Bay Team in Northern California, is one of my favorite USDAA Regionals. However, this year, because I wanted to save up for the USDAA Cynosport World Games in Tennessee, I wasn’t planning on going. Fortunately for me, plans changed.
At the SouthWest USDAA Regional in Arizona earlier this year, I successfully made it into all three finals (Performance Versatility Paris aka PVP, Performance Grand Prix aka PGP, and Performance Speed Jumping aka PSJ). In PVP, my teammate and I finished top 10, in PSJ Squeeky and I came in 2nd, and in PGP Squeeky and I came in 2nd. We lost by tiny margins to a previous 22″ Championship Cynosport World Games Steeplechase Champion! Not bad.
And yet, by the Bay Team Regional, our teamwork had progressed to the point where our success was even greater.
Squeeky (a TEN year old Border Collie measuring only 17.5″ tall) and I took GOLD in the Performance Grand Prix Round 1 AND in the Performance Grand Prix Finals!
Then, Squeeky and I took GOLD in the Performance Speed Jumping Finals.
AND
Squeeky and her teammate, Lexi (one of my amazing students), took SILVER in the Performance Pairs Relay Finals AND Overall!
Usually at the end of a run, I can find at least one thing I wish I had handled better. I’m sure most handlers can relate….that one wide turn, that one late cross, and so on. However, at the end of this weekend, I can honestly say there was not one thing that could have made my Finals runs better. We were on. And it was amazing.
Check out our winning runs:
You are so amazing. Sounds like it was a super fun weekend!!!!!!!
