The problem is, even though the holidays carry the reminder that a clean house and a well-groomed dog is desirable, the holidays don’t provide any more time for grooming. This is why PetSmart® Grooming is integral to holiday survival.
PetSmart® associates are dedicated to making pets in their care look and feel great…every day. They offer grooming in the form of baths, nail trims/grinds, de-shedding treatments & more! All PetSmart® salon associates acquire annual safety certification and take additional course-work where they learn about dog anatomy, signs of stress, and common pet medical conditions. Their groomers (those that give haircuts) receive an additional 400 hours of hands-on training.
This month, in the spirit of the holidays I booked my grandmother’s dog, Rosie, a grooming appointment with PetSmart® groomers. Rosie is a Chow-Chow, so she sheds a lot. She is also a fairly big dog, so it is difficult for my grandmother to regularly brush her.
The PetSmart® grooming department was incredibly nice when we booked the appointment. Rosie’s groomer, Amanda, met us as soon as we walked in, and bent down to pet Rosie as we discussed her grooming plan for the day: bath, blow dry, de-shedding, paw trim, and sanitary grooming.
One of the things I love about the PetSmart® grooming salons are their glass windows. If you are a nervous pet-parent (like me), you can stay and watch everything except for the bath through the windows. Now, sometimes this can make the groomer’s job harder as your dog might pull in your direction, but it is nice to know they are treating your dog great!
In case you can’t tell from the pictures, Rosie left her PetSmart® grooming appointment incredibly well-groomed! She was soft, smelled wonderful, and her hair was cut naturally and beautifully! Rosie was happy to walk in to her appointment and was not worried at all as we left. It was clear she was treated well while they were doing such a wonderful job working on her abundant coat.
If you’re ready to try PetSmart® dog grooming services yourself, you should book an appointment today! Appointments can be booked online (even choosing your favorite groomer) and you can choose to get text alerts or emails notifying you when your pet is ready to be picked up. PetSmart® is so confident you will be happy with their service they even offer a “Look Great Guarantee,” which is their promise that you’ll be happy with your pet’s service, or they’ll do whatever it takes to make it right – including offering your money back.

Reminders for PetSmart® grooming appointments:
- All pets need current rabies vaccinations and proof of vaccination from their vet.
- Rabies vaccination needs to be administered 48 hours prior to service.
- PetSmart® does not perform services on pets 8 weeks or younger.
- Customers cannot go behind the double doors separating the Salon lobby from the grooming area. This is for the safety of both pets and associates.
Rosie looks great and the ribbons are a nice touch. Are they on her ears or a leash? I couldn’t quite tell.
Both! They put a big bow on her leash and two little purple bows on her ears. I think it is adorable…even if Rosie doesn’t leave them in for long.
Soemtimes, I wish I had longer haired dogs so I could have an excuse to go to PetSmart and get them groomed and styled with a mohawk! Maybe a purple one. I’ve never used a groomer but scheduling an appointment online seems super easy!
I have great news for you, Bernard! You can do PetSmart grooming with short-hair dogs too! They offer this cool “add-on” called stenciling, and it is a pet-safe, temporary “tattoo” for short-hair dogs. I didn’t ask while I was there, but I would bet they even have some awesome holiday-themed options! It’s super cute. I once had a paw-print done on my short-haired Border Collie.
It’s been a while, but we used to take our little dogs to PetSmart for grooming. It was always a positive experience for us. Looks like Rosie had a great experience, too!
Rosie looks beautiful! I always like to get my dogs groomed before we have a big event because everyone enjoys them more when they smell good and have soft fur! We used to have a Keeshond and grooming her regularly really did cut down on the dog hair in the house.
Tut had an amazing experience with his spa day at PetSmart Grooming! Looks like your baby did as well!
Rosie looks totally irresistible!
