Three out of Five Paws
Jumping Chollas Agility Club is one of the older clubs in Arizona. I am not rating them on anything other than my experiences at their trials. So, the paw print rating above will be updated throughout the year based on those experiences.
January 2015 Jumping Chollas Agility Club of Greater Phoenix hosted the 2015 Paws for a Wish AKC event***. They did a great job! The rings were well-organized, the volunteers were treated very well, and their choice in judges were great! The only thing that, in my opinion, kept them from a perfect rating was their equipment. I am under the impression that Jumping Chollas was originally a USDAA club, so their AKC equipment is not the best yet, because they don’t have the club funds for it. I’m sure that means we will be seeing equipment upgrades in the future. In the meantime, however, their equipment consists of welded bottom, metal jumps, which you never really see anymore. This is something to note for a lot of young, kamikaze dogs. Their contact equipment is rubberized, but some of the pieces were due for resurfacing. However, because they were such an enjoyable club, and the equipment was not, in my opinion, unsafe, I would definitely attend this event in the future and recommend it to my fellow competitors. Great job Jumping Chollas!
