It’s raining in North Carolina right now, which is giving me even more of that summer travel bug 😂
With rumors that more shut downs could be on the horizon I’m just sticking to my lane…planning new content for here, YouTube, and my online students, and daydreaming of adventures.
If you have any requests (videos vs pics, fitness or training), let me know! I’m working around slooooow internet at my new house so having a plan is going to be a must for me moving forward 😂
Pic from when Popeye and I got to do touristy things in the Netherlands before EO. I really hope the world returns to normal soon enough for us to go back (he’s approaching retirement age 😓), but if not, my terrier and young BC, Gir, have big paw prints to fill ❤️
What sets your soul on fire?
Sometimes I have to remind myself. Sometimes I have to ask myself again.
But it’s always the same answer….and it always brings me back to my dreams…my goals.
I always ask my students this same question, but now I’m asking you…because without a dream you won’t get anywhere.
I’m not saying having the goal, the dream, will show you the way there. The dream is just the destination. It’s up to you to figure out how to get there, because only you know where “there” is.
There is nothing wrong with being a dreamer…as long as you’re brave enough to make your dreams a reality…
Because people will tell you that you can’t. People will question you. Some people will even go so far as to sabotage you.
I wish I was kidding. But all of the above happened to me.
But I held on to the dream my first Border Collie, Crash, opened my eyes and my heart to. And I bravely faced each and every opposition.
It takes time. It takes heart. It takes guts. But if you want it, you can have it. Just keep pushing ❤️
Sometimes the smallest things take up the most room in your heart…
I truly can’t say how thankful I am for my dogs and all the love and adventures they have brought into my life.
I don’t know what tomorrow will bring, but I do know that whatever comes my way, I will be lucky enough to experience it with my dogs by my side ❤️
Happy 4th of July!!! Have any plans?
I’m showing a couple houses to a client (yes, I am a Realtor too…have to keep up my dogs’ lifestyle 😜), finishing painting my bedroom, then starting work on my accent wall, renting a movie, and chilling for the night with my dogs at home.
I can’t say that my plans for the 4th are super exciting, but they’re definitely full! But I’m sure you all have figured out by now that I like to stay busy 😄
Got home late Monday night from my first UKI Classic! Super proud of how my crew did! We are all exhausted!
I may have been overly excited about finally entering a trial and entered my three Masters dogs in the Classic Pentathlon, Biathlon, and the local Masters Series PLUS my two green dogs in Beginner Jumping and Speedstakes all three days - a total of over 35 runs in three days 😳. This added up to running countless yards on some very challenging courses.
Despite the craziness of conflicts and loooong days, all three of my Masters dogs made Pentathlon Finals!
At the end of the event, my green dogs made me super proud with brilliant moments and some placements, and of my Masters dogs, Porky Pig won Biathlon Silver and Pentathlon Silver. Jelly Bean took Bronze in Biathlon and GOLD in Pentathlon Finals. And Popeye earned Biathlon Bronze and Pentathlon GOLD.
And because I have big goals that don’t get rest days…my dogs took the day off yesterday and I got my exercise in 💪 Continuing to work on bettering myself so I can better my team ❤️
What a crazy, amazing weekend 😍
I’ve been home from Westminster for a few days now, so plenty of time to reflect while painting the house and coaching my amazing students…
My thoughts post Westminster:
~ I’ve missed travel. And I’ve really missed competing. It was so great to finally be on another adventure! So, time to start looking at competition calendars and book seminars again!
~ Pig is a little rusty…that was her first Standard run in over a year! I’m so proud of her! But I’ve set some training goals for her with the plan to come back better than ever for next year’s Westminster!
~ I need to order my agility equipment 😂 Moving means I’ve been without since March. I’ve snuck in some training sessions here and there while coaching, but I like consistent training. Meanwhile, I have found three gyms close to my new house so I can keep up with my physical training too! Though I really want to get a @onepeloton for cardio at home!
~ Sportsmanship gets rusty with time off too. One of the things that I’m typically good at is management of my nerves at events and bouncing back from failures. And I have to say, both were a little harder for me after over a year off. But I did it. Just another muscle that needed working 💪
I am so thankful for the opportunities I’m given with this sport. I’m looking forward to the future….competing, coaching, and always improving ❤️
Porky Pig did great for her first round at the @westminsterkennelclub Agility show! Clean and Top 10 placement in Standard (even with a loooong, sad face-plant after the aframe).
Next up is Jumpers with Weaves. Super proud of my Piglet ❤️
