I love my dogs. And they love me. But they are liars.
My dogs lie to my family members about the last time they were fed…so it was not uncommon for them to end up with second-breakfast or second-dinner. We had to develop a fridge magnet system to prevent this deception from continuing to occur. So now, unless someone forgets to change the magnet, we can catch the little liars.
My dogs lie to strangers about their training. Not all the time. Just often enough to keep me humble and to remind me not to brag. For example, as soon as I utter a statement such as, “she knows this really well” that she will suddenly act as if I have never trained the requested behavior before. Then, to add insult to injury, as soon as the witness to my statement is gone, the behavior is magically back. Sigh.
My dogs lie to other dog-lovers about their well-being. No, my dog is not filthy because I don’t allow him in the house. He is filthy because he prefers to roll in the dirt to bring as much of the outdoors inside as he possibly can.
My dogs are liars. Do your dogs lie too? I’d love to hear your funny stories about how your dogs are liars.
